People’s Climate March

On Saturday, April 29th over 200,000 people took to the streets in Washington D.C.to show their support for climate action. Timed to coincide with the 100th day of the Trump administration, climate activists united to show their resistance to policies that would harm renewable energy, our clean air and water and promote pollution. The Vermont Natural Resource Council sponsored a bus and brought 45 people (plus one service dog) to Washington D.C. to march in the sweltering 92 degree heat. Many of our friends and colleagues showed solidarity at the Montpelier Rally which drew a crowd of about 2,000. Creative signs and chants were ubiquitous. The need for action does not go away now that the march is over. You can help combat climate change by getting involved with your local energy committee.
