 VECAN -  Project: Vermont Rideshare
Vermont Rideshare

This is an ongoing or completed project of the VECAN

Why It Matters

Ridesharing can save you money on gas consumption and car repairs as well as pounds of greenhouse gas emissions. It also helps to reduce the amount of cars on the road in Vermont which means less congestion during busy commuting times.

Vanpools- A group of 10 people traveling 70 miles per day can save $160 per month in gas (at $3.75 per gallon).

How to get started

  • Visit the Vermont RideShare website (see below) and fill out the online registration form, or call 1-800-658-RIDE for local RideShare Coordinator assistance.
  • The ridematching system will then provide for you matches that fit into your commuting schedule.
  • Review your matches and pick the one that works for you, contact those people and begin ridesharing!Make sure that after you set up a rideshare that you revisit www.VermontRideShare.org and inform them of such so that you qualify for benefits.
