Please come join in for Waterbury’s 1st-ever Ride of Silence to honor those who have been killed or injured riding bicycles on roads t o ride together\, show our appreciation to folks who love to bike downtown & around Waterbury\, & help raise awareness of the need to have safe road s\, bike paths & trail systems helping to connect us from place to place.< /p>\n

Folks are asked to arrive at Rusty Parker at 5:30 with their bike and helmet – (Sherry Winnie is organizing the ride and she will have sign- in sheets/release forms & stickers)

5:55 PM – A f ew words about this event\, its purpose\, the route being taken\,
\nI t’s a slow/moderate ride\, and everyone will be sticking together single f ile\, helmets on\, and the group will plan to ride for 1 hour and return t o Rusty Parker @ 7PM.

6PM – 7PM Route:
\nDep art Rusty Parker / Park Row\, Left onto South Main St\, Left onto Demerrit t Place\, behind GMCR\, out Railroad St.\, to Stowe St\, Right to High Str eet\, right onto High & up around Thatcher Brook via Armory\, up to and ar ound Hillcrest Terrace\, back down Armory & High Street\, left onto Stowe St to lights\; Left onto South Main St\, right down to Randall St\, right around back of State Complex\, right onto South Main St. Right onto Rte. 1 00 up to across from Crossett Brook School\, turning right up and over the hill to Duxbury village where pavement meets dirt roads.

At that point\, on school grounds\, the group will take a break for a couple minut es\, read a few names\, take a moment of silence\, and direct all those wh o have only road bikes to follow Peter Plagge who will lead a group back i nto Waterbury with one more loop up and down South Main St. while Sherry w ill take the dirt road\, down the River Road\, over the Winooski Street Br idge\, right onto the Cross Vermont Trail\, behind the State Complex\, bac k onto Park Row & back to Rusty Parker by 7PM.
